Light a candle
Before the 18th-century icon of St. Janyl and the White Rider stands the great candle stand given by the women of the Lower Town in 1998. Pilgrims light a candle there for the sick, for travellers, for those far from home and for the dead. If you cannot come to Cathedral Hill, you may light one here. The sacristan lights a candle at the stand each evening for every intention received through this page, and the intentions are read, by initials only, at the 9:30 Holy Qurbana on Sunday.

Please note
- Names are never read in full. Write initials only, and do not write the names of other people in your intention.
- Intentions are kept by the sacristan until the Sunday Qurbana and then burned with the old palms.
- There is no charge. Those who wish may give to the upkeep of the candle stand at the cathedral office or through the parish account (see Contact and giving).
- To ask for a Holy Qurbana to be offered for a particular intention, write to the cathedral office. Mass intentions are not taken through this page.
